How to restore Exchange Server 2007

  1. Create a directory for restoring database backup files (if needed)

  2. Use Rhinoback to restore the database files to a directory you decided

  3. Download Exchange Recovery Utility - ExRestoreX64.zip

  4. Expand [ExRestoreX64.zip] to get [ExRestoreX64.exe]
  5. Dismount the database/s using Exchange Management Console -> expand [Server Configuration] -> Select [Mailbox] -> Right-click the database/s that will be recovered, and select [Dismount Database])

  6. Run Exchange Recovery Utility  [ExRestoreX64.exe] in command prompt, follow the usage instructions to recover your database/s

  7. Mount the database/s using Exchange Management Console -> Click to expand [Server Configuration] -> Select [Mailbox] -> Right-click the database/s that you just dismounted, and select [Mount Database]
