Q10058 - FAQ: Is it safe to enter my credit card number into this website?
Yes, all pages on this website that display or receive billing data, or any other information about your account are automatically encrypted using Secure Socket Layer (SSL). This is the same security that is used by banks and online bill payment systems. You can be certain that pages are encrypted with SSL by looking for the lock icon SSL browser lock in your browser. The lock is located in the status area at the bottom of your page in Microsof Internet Explorer. The lock is located at the right end of the address box in FireFox, and a slightly differnt lock icon is located in the far upper right corner of the Apple Safari browser. These lock icons are displayed by the browser when the content is secured by SSL and a digital certificate. The website developer cannot cause the browser to display the lock icon without using SSL.
